Paris Introduces Mandatory Traffic Bans During High Air Pollution Days

February 4, 2016 - The majority of Paris has introduced mandatory traffic bans during high pollution days after a long-running battle with the French government.  The new ban enforces alternate driving days for cars with odd and even number registration plates during days of low air quality.  The announcement was made after air pollution levels spiked early in November, just a few weeks before the city was to host a crucial UN climate change summit.  Future plans will likely include "car-free" days across the city.
