New Web Tool Improves Access to Chemical Safety Information

October 10, 2013- The EPA recently launched ChemView, a new web tool that makes it easier to access chemical-specific regulatory information developed by EPA, as well as data submitted under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

ChemView contains details on more than 1,500 chemicals. Users can search for data on a specific substance, including EPA assessments, hazard characterizations, and information on safer ingredients, as well as details reported under the Chemical Data Reporting Rule, including manufacturing, processing, use, and release information.

ChemView allows users to search by chemical name or CAS number, use, hazard effect, or regulatory action, and to compare chemicals by use and by health or environmental effects. The EPA plans to add more chemicals, functionality, and links to ChemView in coming months.
